In our contemporaneous world of deadlines, latenights and cut throat competition, its extremely rare that we find a cure to bad days. Pedicures are to expensive and you might have to put off buying that golf club set you’ve had your eye on until your long awaited raise. And so thank you God for cheaper, more available options. Take tea for instance.
Why think that the solution to your horrific weekdays lies in exotic health spas and pricey spoils when all it takes is a cup of good ol’ chai?
The discovery of the beverage may have been an ancient Chinese accident when Shen Nung, an emperor who ruled nearly 5000 years ago, tasted the refreshing blend that was produced when a few dried leaves unintentionally fell into a pot of boiling water and studied the plant in detail thereafter. Gradually as most discoveries do, the art of making and drinking tea spread westwards and has evetually rested firmly in our daily rituals. However, the significance of the well roasted shoots has never been higher than today.
Although other drinks like Coffee and Coca-Cola have scored higher with the popularity votes, the caffine content may not always have the best returns. With no aim to begin a debate over which is better for the average work-a-holic, tea displays certain characteristics unlike any other thirst buster. It is a detoxing agent and owes its revitalizing qualities to the fact that it cleanses the blood stream and silently works as a health agent, ensuring an active future.

So the next time you reach out for that cup of piping, hot , black something let’s hope its the call of Tea that you answer to. And look at it this way, it could keep you company on those cold, lonely nights and you can chose, becasue it spans Nationalities like Chinese, Japenese, Indian or Moroccan and comes in whatever shade you want too –Dark, Cream, Yellow, Green. After all isn’t Variety the Spice of Life??

Ever wonder what could possibly make the date 7.7.7 even more memorable than it was destined to be? Well Tony Parker and Eva Longoria’s wedding might come to mind but the topic under discussion does not restrict itself to the unison of the figurative worlds of sports and entertainment but magnifies issues that we in the real world need to take seriously. Live Earth 7.7.07 marked a historical event that rocked the entire planet (pun intended) for 24 hours straight with the hopes to rescue the only planet endowed with life from extinguishing its natural resources by fighting Global Warming.

“The concerts for a Climate in Crisis” as it was aptly labeled was executed under the leadership of The Alliance for Climate Protection, an organization that has been battling the cause to revolutionize the ‘ Go Green’ campaign for years and it involved over a 100 musicians to name a few– Jack Johnson, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Linkin Park, UB40 as well as rare acts like the Police reunited. By enlivening the battle against a potentially serious problem that has already started to take its toll on the Polar icecaps and is the root behind the unpredictable climatic change, Al Gore and Kevin Wall both proactive Ecologists and partners in the SOS campaign, could to educate billions around the globe of the solemnity that Global Warming. For those that are still in denial of the war that is waging, a war that is beyond Iraq, this is the largest appeal that could be made to take that conscious step towards making a difference however small, like unplugging a phone charger after use. Never again will the world witness a mass appealing programme that aims at appeals to both the ears and the mind. Never again should we find the need to mobilize such forces in plea of making a Global Change.
